Description: Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Easy sociable ride of 24-32 km (15-20 miles) at a pace of 14-17km/h (9-11 mph). A 17mile ride with 4.4miles on unpaved tracks including 'bridge of doom' to Harwell Science Park: out via Lord Nelson to Ardington & Icknield Greenway to Harwell returning via Rowstock Corner, East Hendred, Ardington & Kingsgrove bye pass. Coffee stop @ Lighthouse Harwell.
Riders: Andy Belcher Carin Tranter John Stamp Lorna Swanton Rob Godfrey Riders = 5 Weather: Report: A scenic ride mostly on country lanes or tracks with stones, so not recommended for road bikes with narrow tyres. The A417 from Rowstock Corner wasn’t conducive for 1* ride so took the track linking Rowstock Corner to East Hendred. It was badly rutted for most of its length; very leisurely pace required. Average speed 6mph incl coffee stop. Ride is saved in 1*star ridewithgps but couldn't obtain a URL reference.
