2* Blake's Coleshill 2*
Leader:
Stephanie Haddrell
Start Time:
10:00 am
Start Location:
Old Mill Hall
Description:
Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Half day ride (45-55km / 30-40 miles), with a tea stop, at a riding pace of 18-20km/h (11-13mph).
Blake's at Coleshill. We will be using Puddleduck Lane. This bridleway has recently been 'resurfaced' by the farmer using rubble. It is however still preferable to dicing with the dangerous potholes down Badbury Hill.

Report:
What a fabulous day, such amazing weather and great company on our planned ride to Blakes at Coleshill.
We set off out of Grove via Denchworth and Goosey and onto Baulking and Fernham. The colours in the Vale were just stunning; vibrant green fields and leaves, interspersed with the bright yellow rape filed and the multicoloured tulips and purple wisteria adding to natures pallet.
Heading into Faringdon we crossed the A420 with ease and made our way to Great Coxwell where we enjoyed an off road section along Puddleduck lane to avoid the potholes on the road to Coleshill, quite Ironic that! We then rejoined the road and enjoyed the descent into Coleshill for coffee and cinnamon buns at Blakes. Happy days, a chance to catch up and refuel.
The return journey began at swift pace as our chairman had pressing engagement! We flew into Shrivenham and onto Fernham where we said our farewell to Des, and gave Roger and John permission to go ahead so that we could have a slightly more relaxed return journey. We then made ourway home via Shellingford Gainfield and Charney Basset. A beautiful day perfect conditions and lovely company, with no mechanicals. Thank you.
