Daytime 1* Thursday Ride to Light Box Harwell Campus 1*
Leader:
Tim Hoyle
Start Time:
10:00 am
Start Location:
OMH
Description:
Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Easy sociable ride of 24-32 km (15-20 miles) at a pace of 14-17km/h (9-11 mph).

The Harwell Light Box Cafe is one of my favourite cafe stops (but only weekdays). The route into and out of the campus is a little arbitrary due to the building works. Also the Bridge of Doom on the return trip requires care - engage low gear and Boost (either electric or legs!). Easy coast down the Kingsgrove Freeway.
Dist. 16.5mls (26.4kms) Asc. 501ft.(153m.) Grad3.7%up,4.6%down)

Report:
Good weather, good company, good cafe stop, dry route to The Light Box on the Harwell Campus. Out via Charlton, Lockinge and Ginge along the Icknield Way. Inside the Campus finding the Light Box is always a bit hit and miss and after one minor mis-direction we settled in for drinks and cake. On the return route John Leggot suffered a de-chaining incident which was quicky sorted. A final wizz down the Kingsgrove Freeway completed a good ride.
Dist:16.4miles, Ave Speed 10.2 mph.
Distance:
26.39 km (16.40 mi)
