RIDE CANCELLED - Tuesday Evening 1* Ride - Hanney Explorer	1*

Description: RIDE CANCELLED - Met Office extreme heat warning. Ride cancelled. - The Hanney Explorer (10 miles). This is one of my favourite Tuesday Evening 1* routes, visiting some hidden corners of the Hanneys before tackling two sections of off-road that really take us off the beaten track. We'll tackle these in stages: first, a wooded bridleway around the playing fields at East Hanney and then the track from West Hanney across the fields to the Denchworth dip. The first includes a short section of easy "single track". Having ridden the route on Sunday, the tracks are very dry, bumpy and stony in places, but nothing too technical. Suitable for gravel, MTB or hybrid bikes with wide-ish tyres. Narrow road tyres not recommended! It's going to be hot, so please make sure you have plenty to drink with you. We'll stop in the shade wherever we can. Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Our leisurely and sociable Tuesday evening 1* rides are designed specifically with adult newcomers to cycling and youngsters in mind, or those who just want some relaxed and sociable exercise. We cover a distance of 10-15 miles (16-24km) at a gentle pace of 8-10 mph (13-16kph), following quiet country lanes and the occasional easy off-road track. We stop regularly to catch our breath, to take in the views and anything that takes our interest along the way.
