Off Road Thursday Evening Ride CANCELLED	2*

Description: Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Off-road ride around local tracks, usually about 10 -15 miles. Knobbly tyres required and good lights when it gets dark (‘get you home’ lights in Spring/Autumn). We are keen to welcome new riders and can make recommendations or have spare lights to borrow if you let us know. Dark, cold and wet - we’ll ride in any two. But please let us know if you are coming so we can tell you if we decide to cancel due to bad weather or other reasons. This ride will be subject to review - we do have a Met Office red warning for extreme heat. RIDE CANCELLED Taking into consideration the heat factor, I’ve planned the route so we have a reasonable amount of shade, also climbing is kept to a bare minimum. From Wantage we’ll follow the Icknield Way out just between East Hendred and Harwell Campus, we’ll then disappear into the woods with the one and only climb taking us up to Scutchamer Knob. We’ll then have a nice flat ride along the Ridgeway, descending back into Wantage via Larkhill. Optional stop for refreshments at the Nelson. Ride Distance 13 miles/20km.
