Regular Wantage Ride	3*

Leader: John Tranter	Start Time: 9:30 am	Start Location: WMP
Description: This may be an eccentric idea, but I am fancying some good hills for this one. Out via the Letcombes to Kingston Lisle and Uffington, I am tempted (for some reason) to do the Uffington White Horse loop just for fun before the ascent of Ashbury Hill and the long drop to Lambourne. Then over the Membury ridge and dropping down to Hungerford for lunch. After lunch we follow the valley through Kintbury and Marsh Benham before climbing the ridge again at Stockcross followed by a gradual climb out of Boxford to Brightwalton. The good news is we finish with a great swoop down Chain Hill back into Wantage! Distance about 60 miles/100km and riding pace 18-22km/h (11-14mph).

A great turn-out (also welcome to Dave Pollington, a mate of John Tranter's from Newbury). Ride went according to plan, although there was a general consensus to miss out the Uffington White Horse loop, not because we didn't want the exercise, but more because it had disappeared into the clouds! Good lunch at the Tutti Pole in Hungerford. Special kudos to Adrian for sticking with us on his first hilly 3* ride!

I really enjoyed this ride, I do hope I wasn't too much of a nuisance with people having to wait for me at the top of the hills.
I must train harder.
