10 Mile Club 1*	1*

Leader: Steve Boreham	Start Time: 6:30 pm	Start Location: OMH
Description: A slightly hillier ride will take us up out of the Vale to the Springline village of Childrey. There is the opportunity to meet with riders from other groups for a social stop at the Fox in Denchworth at the end of the ride. Lights recommended if you plan to stay awhile at the pub. We'll head out via Denchworth and continue over the railway (great view from the bridge) to West Challow. We'll climb to Childrey on a metalled bridleway and then enjoy a lovely descent down to the A417 at Challow station. We'll return to Denchworth via Goosey. There will be two strectches along the A417 with right hand-turns. These rides are designed to be sociable and leisurely at a riding pace of about 10 miles per hour, suitable for newcomers to cycling, irregular cyclists and families and for those who just fancy a gentle ride . We'll stop to admire the scenery and anything that takes our eye, and no-one will be left behind. All are welcome although U-13s should be accompanied by a responsible adult .

Overcast to start with but brightened up into sunshine (on my first ride as leader, I'd like to think I'd ordered it!) A good size group with 9 riders including two new riders. Good support received from the group, even when I tried to throw in the "impromptu detour" (Just testing.....) And, I kept up! For those who chose to, we were able to descend on the pub with impeccable timing (well, when it's for a drink..) Keep pedalling..
