Regular Wantage Ride	3*

Leader: Glen Savegar	Start Time: 9:30 am	Start Location: WMP
Description: 80-100km all-day touring ride, lunch and possibly tea stop en route, riding pace 18-22km/h (11-14mph). Not suitable for irregular riders. Climbing almost inevitable. This month we will head to Lechlade for lunch. Proposed route will be- Wantage, Letcombe Regis, Letcombe Bassett, Childrey, Sparsholt, Kingston Lisle, Uffington, Woolstone, Watchfield, Coleshill, Lechlade. We will return via Langford, Kencot, Alvescot, Black Bourton, Bampton, Aston (Optional stop off at the pottery for tea), Buckland, Gainfield, Charney Bassett, Denchworth, Grove, and Wantage.
Riders: Alice Robson Camen Lei David Yearley Glen Savegar Mila Yearley Nick Dunton Riders = 6 Report: Well it turned out to be a fine day following Saturdays gales. An early morning frost and clear skies south of the Thames turned cloudier as we headed north of Lechlade to skirt the edge of the Cotswolds. A very nice lunch at the Black Cat Cafe, with jacket potatoes, sandwiches, and even a late morning (early afternoon?) English breakfast among our choices. Post lunch and a traverse on quiet lanes to Alvescot and Black Bourton, before joining the main road to Bampton and Aston, where it was decided to push on, resisting the temptation of cakes at the pottery. A good move really, as it seemed only a short time since lunch, and rewarded us with maximum benefit from the lovely but fading winter sunlight. A big welcome to Camen from CTC Oxford City, on her first ride out with CTC Wantage. Thanks everyone! Glen S
