New Forest Tour 2*	2*

Leader: Chris Walters	Start Time: 9:30 am	Start Location: Cadnam, New Forest - http://g.co/maps/y48ey
Description: An "away" ride which will be run at a solid 2* pace (18-20km/h, 12-13mph) , meeting at Cadnam - http://g.co/maps/y48ey - 90 minutes from Wantage. The route covers 80km of the nicest lanes in the New Forest, with a pub lunch stop along the way. There are a few short hills and a longer drag, but if you can climb Hackpen Hill, there will be nothing that troubles you!) Ride definitely on - please contact Chris if you plan to join in but haven't already spoken to him. Weather forecast is fine but pretty windy.
Riders: Catherine Wainwright Chris Walters David Bridge David Smith Michael Tayler Mila Yearley Paul Watson Phil Stubbings Ursula Hallam Riders = 9 Report: Nine riders set out on time from Cadnam, heading south to Beaulieu, where we had a timely coffee stop. The two table were split in clinical fashion - the cake eaters and the envious. Dark clouds loomed and we felt a few spots of rain, but nothing serious. Heading east into the headwind was quite arduous, as was the climb up the Bolderwood Ornamental Drive, but we made light work of it all and arrived at the Red Shoot Inn for a very nice lunch. After lunch was more undulating, but everyone did really well, and it was awesome getting a wind-assist up Deadman's Hill before the descent into the appropriately named Nomansland and then wiggled through the fantastic flowering rhododendron display for a well-earned cuppa at the finish. Everyone rode really well, and the consensus was that we should have more 2* all-day rides - ride leaders please take note!
