Uffington to Goring along the Ridgeway	2*

Leader: David Smith	Start Time: 10:00 am	Start Location: Uffington (White Horse Hill car park)
Description: UPDATE 22/05 Note the ride now starts at the later time of 10:00. A day ride from the White Horse Hill car park at Uffington along the Ridgeway to Goring for refreshments, return via the same route with options for variation. A non-technical, but at 70 km, longish off-road 2*.
Riders: David Smith Gareth Paterson Louis Hall Robin Tucker Ursula Hallam Riders = 5 Weather: Report: A select turnout on a beautiful day, a couple of people cheated and warmed themselves up on the ride over from Wantage! We made very good time on the way over to Goring enjoying the rolling terrain and with nothing too technical on the planned route Robin showed us several little side trails and pieces of singletrack that he knew of. Due to lack of planning on the leaders part we found the café in Goring was closed as it doesn't open on Sundays! Never mind, The Catherine Wheel was open and they were having a BBQ in the garden and some sort of face painting event. Robin & I tried the BBQ but no one tried the face painting. We decided to follow the same route home and quickly ascended up to the Ridgeway proper where the slight tailwind that had helped us make good time on the way out slowed some of us down on the return journey. A puncture was quickly repaired about 5km from the end. We all made it back to the car park for an ice cream from the van. Some of us were still raring to go which was lucky as they had to cycle back to Wantage! All in all a great day, thanks to everyone for coming along and welcome to Gareth on his first ride with CTC Wantage.
