10 Mile Club 1*	1*

Description: Our leisurely and sociable 10-mile club rides are designed specifically with adult newcomers to cycling and youngsters in mind, or those who just want some relaxed and sociable exercise. We cover a distance of about 10 miles at a gentle pace of 8-10 mph, following quiet country lanes and the occasional easy off-road track. We stop regularly to catch our breath, to take in the views and anything that takes our interest along the way. Tonight we'll head to Childrey. Out through Stockham, a short ride along the A417 to East Challow, where we'll pick up the track and bridleway to Childrey. There's an enjoyable descent into the Vale and after a second short stretch along the A417, will return to Grove via Goosey and Denchworth, a round trip of about 10 miles. Optional stop at The Fox in Denchworth for a drink with riders from all the other groups. Please bring refreshments for the ride and an extra layer to keep warm (as it can get cold in the lanes towards dusk). Lights will be required if you decide to stop at the Fox. Newcomers to cycling and accompanied children very welcome.
Riders: Edith Hipwell Fiona Ashby Ian Howland Isabelle Barber Janet Hammonds Lorna Swanton Steve Boreham Steve Swanton Susan Fletcher Watts Vyvyan Hazell Riders = 10 Report: A glorious evening (at time of writing - ie a week later due to website issues - it seems like it was the last time the sun shone!) resulting a good turn out across all rides, with the 10 mile club, starting out with 9 riders. A lovely leisurely ride, taking in the sun's rays (yes, Sun!), and with seven of us taking in that drink at the Fox at the end. 9 became 10, when Isabel, having cycled from Baulking, arrived at the pub having been on a far and wide search for the 10 mile club party - taking in West Hanney, and almost Grove, before arriving for a well earned drink. It is only right that she should be added with gusto to the riders list! Well done everybody - a wonderful evening where it was a pleasure to lead.
