Tuesday Evening 3* Ride	3*

Description: Last time I led this route on a Tuesday evening it was torrential rain, I hope I haven't jinxed it now!! Out to Bampton via Buckland. Along to Clanfield and up the hill at Littleworth. A short stretch on the A420 before lanes that will be beautiful in evening sunshine to Stanford-in-the-Vale. An opportunity to Denchworth Dash (which has been resurfaced) on the way back to Grove. A mostly flat 48km with some quick straight easy sections that should see an average speed at the top end of 3* by the end of the ride.

Even if I say so myself this is a beautiful evening route from Grove. Lots of glorious lanes and some easy fast sections. We made good progress, in the warm air the tyres were humming along. We got to Buckland quickly and descended the smooth tarmac to the Thames. Some of us had a bit of a blast along to Bampton. The flat easy miles to Clanfield and Radcot were gobbled up and then the quiet lane and the only climb of the road to Littleworth. A short section of the A420 was negotiated quickly and then the glorious Sandy Lane in the golden evening light to Hatford. One of my favourite roads in the Vale. We tried to avoid the potholes through Stanford (this road needs resurfacing as it's in a terrible state) and onto the A417 and Park Lane. Some of us went for Denchworth Dash which was a fitting end to a fabulous ride in fabulous weather. Thanks for coming along
