Description: Long, hilly, quick - or any combination! Distance 35-45 km (22-28 miles) at a pace of 20-22 km/h (13-14 mph) or slightly faster if flat. May include hard hills.
Riders: Andy Cowan Andy Pixton Chris Walters Dave Martin David Talboys Janet Charleston John Tranter Katherine Boyce Louis Hall Mark Austin Nick Dunton Paul Jarvis Peter Cowan Riders = 13 Report: A somewhat disjointed ride owing to relatively large group and some impatient, aggressive drivers. Perhaps a route better suited for weekend riding when the traffic is lighter. We had a tail wind to Steventon and made good time. Andy C punctured on the transit of Milton Park and gallantly elected not to hold-up the group – thanks Andy; Paul also stopped to accompany Andy home. Tormented by traffic, we took the blissfully quite lane through East Hendred and across the semi-offroad cycle path to Ginge. Pete C left us there to protect his race-wheels. The final swoop down past Lains Barn provided a good finale and an opportunity for chaingang practice. Back @ 8.35 p.m.
