Tuesday Evening 2* Ride	2*

Leader: Chris Walters	Start Time: 6:30 pm	Start Location: OMH
Description: Enjoy an easy-paced ride around the local lanes. 29km at a pace of 18-21 km/h (11-13 mph). No hills to speak of. Tonight, we'll take in a few lanes we use very infrequently, including West Challow and Circourt Road, before heading onto more familiar territory. Optional stop at The Fox in Denchworth at the end of the ride, and please bring lights for the return journey.

A great group of 20 set off from Grove (latecomers, please try and arrive on time - it makes the admin so much easier!), splitting into 2 groups for much of the ride so as to present a smaller target to the motorists of the Vale. Everyone made it up the hills at East Challow and past the cricket club before descending speedily down the rarely used Silver Lane into West Challow. A quick dash on the A417 took us via Circourt towards Denchworth, with John and Sara salivating at the thought of an early beer... but that was a tease as we peeled off at the smell of the hops and headed further round the Vale through Stanford and Charney Bassett, before arriving at the Fox dead on 8pm, having lost a few along the way as we passed their homes or the thought of dinner took a priority. A good turnout across the groups for a social saw the pub still swinging at 9pm. Well done to everyone for what was quite a spirited 2* ride, and special thanks to Adrian and Richard for helping to marshall such a large group on the road.
