Tuesday Evening 2* Ride	2*

Leader: Steve Swanton	Start Time: 6:30 pm	Start Location: OMH
Description: Weekly 1.5 hour rides at a riding pace of 18-20km/h (11-13mph). Not likely to be very hilly. We'll head north via Lyford to Fyfield and Netherton, returning via Longworth and Charney Bassett, a relatively flat ride of about 20 miles, taken at a steady pace of 12mph.
Riders: Andy Belcher Brian Hipwell Chas Boshell Des Higgs Ian Howland Karen Townsin Michael Tayler Stephanie Haddrell Steve Joyce Steve Swanton Riders = 10 Weather: Report: A brisk breeze on the way out to Denchworth turned into a pleasant tailwind as we headed in a more north-easterly direction en route to Fyfield. We stopped by the gates of Fyfield Manor for a breather and were approached by a dog-walking local who asked whether we were interested in buying the estate! It has been on the market for over £5.5M for over a year apparently - an unusual talking point for an evening ride. We had seen the showers around us on the way out. On turning westwards at Netherton it was immediately clear that we were unlikely to escape. We felt the first rain drops approaching the A415 crossing, but fortunately the ridge road (as I call it) has some good tree cover. We stopped for about 5 minutes under the trees to let the worst of the rain pass. However, the sun never stopped shining and there was soon a fine rainbow behind us. As we continued in the late evening sunshine, we could see the showers scurrying eastwards and the rainbow remained clearly visible for most of our ride back to Grove. Back at 8:15. An enjoyable outing for me with the 2-star group, thanks erveryone for your company.
