Tuesday Evening 3* Ride	3*

Leader: Katherine Boyce	Start Time: 6:30 pm	Start Location: OMH
Description: Weekly 1.5 - 2 hours at a riding pace of 20-24km/h (13-15mph). May be hilly. With a hilly last Tuesday, let's keep the hills coming! Chain Hill tonight, with a venture into Berkshire - hopefully going to West Ilsley and Brightwalton will not bring a return of the torrential rain previously encountered on a Tuesday evening ride. We'll finish by going through Letcombe Regis and West Challow before a Denchworth return.

I was wrong, a big group left Old Mill Hall, although Ken turned back very quickly with a puncture. Having wended our way through Wantage and 2 sets of temporary traffic lights we reached Chain Hill at which point it was every rider for themselves. We regrouped at the top of Chain Hill, the stiff head wind ensured nobody broke any records but the views were spectacular and it was well worth the effort. Dave had chain issues on the way to West Ilsley but Andy and Hugo kept him company whilst he sorted it. Another couple of hills and we were in Brightwalton. The rain came, not overly heavy despite the threatening clouds and when we reached the main road back to Wantage we had time to admire the rainbow. We regrouped at the Market Square before a spirited ride back to Grove. A very pleasant group ride, Andy P did another sterling job as sweep and we were back for sunset. Welcome to John Owen, joining for his first ride with the club.
