Saturday afternoon ride from Grove	3*

Leader:	Start Time: 1:00 pm	Start Location: OMH
Description: Monthly 60-70km (38-45 miles) afternoon ride, with a tea stop, riding pace of 20-24km/h (13-15mph). Likely to visit distant destinations. Not suitable for irregular riders. Climbing likely. A relatively flat 72km ride out east, taking afternoon tea at Benson. Out via Appleford and Stadhampton and back via the Moretons and Rowstock.

On the way to Benson we managed to pick up John and a puncture in Sutton Courtenay before the day's major incident of some very dangerous driving and a threat of violence to a club member. No contact was made on either though, and hopefully Thames Valley's Finest have had a stern word with the driver.... Tea at the Waterfront was rather pleasant, out in the sun by the water front. We bade farewell to Karen and John and Nick before Blewbury, and then got into a head-down effort for the rest of the group - some great training, and well done, everyone! An unplanned but enjoyable diversion through Ardington village, and then we were back. Well done to everyone for riding well and strongly, and most importantly, for not losing their cool.
