Tuesday Evening 4* Ride	4*

Leader: Nick Fisher	Start Time: 6:30 pm	Start Location: OMH
Description: Weekly 1.5-2 hours ride at a riding pace of 25-29km/h (16-18mph). May be hilly. It would be a shame to finish the season without a visit to the closest of the Top 100 climbs, and this is the week! First half of the ride is flat; out to Didcot via the A417 and Harwell, then through South Moreton and Cholsey to pick up the excellent Wallingford Road south towards Goring. Ascend up from Streatley at your own pace, and we'll re-group at the top. From here, we'll wind our way back home via Compton and the Ilsleys, finishing with a deserved descent down Chain Hill. A slightly longer ride tonight, but we'll stick together as a group and get everyone home safely for tea. Please bring front and rear lights.

We headed towards Wallingford at a good pace with a friendly tailwind, progress marred only by a series of red lights in and around Didcot. From there the progress to Goring and Streatley was fluid, although Frank suffered a chain malfunction which split the group temporarily. Streatley Hill was a (pleasant?) surprise to Rich, Allan and Jason, who hadn't climbed it before, and we re-grouped at the top before heading back homewards, now with the wind very much in our faces. Jason left part of himself on Streatley Hill, and parted company with us in West Ilsely to make his own way home; from there we all peeled off at the appropriate point towards Grove, getting back still in the twilight phase of the evening.
