10 Mile Club 1*	1*

Description: Our leisurely and sociable 10-mile club rides are designed specifically with adult newcomers to cycling and youngsters in mind, or those who just want some relaxed and sociable exercise. We cover a distance of about 10 miles at a gentle pace of 8-10 mph, following quiet country lanes and the occasional easy off-road track. We stop regularly to catch our breath, to take in the views and anything that takes our interest along the way. The Hanney Explorer. Out via Denchworth to the Hanneys and back. Depending on numbers, there may be an option to split the group so that those who would like can return to Denchworth across the track from West Hanney. The track is rather stony and rough at present and a mountain bike (or large tyres) is recommended to enjoy this. The main group will return on the newly relaid road... Optional stop at The Fox in Denchworth at the end of the ride for a sociable get-together. Lights are recommended and will be required if you are cycling home after stopping at the pub.

We cycled gentle out to the Hanneys, taking a sneaky short-cut on a path through East Hanney en route to the lovely green just north of the crossroads. Sadly with the sun setting, we could not linger too long and returned by road to West Hanney. Perhaps unsurprisngly with the choice between a stony path and pristine tarmac, everyone elected to stick to the road. We were back in Denchworth just before sunset and everyone came into the pub for a meal or drink. An enjoyably relaxed ride and social. Thanks everyone.
