A bit of Rough

You couldn't have asked for a better day to restart the Off Road rides. There were lots of new faces and people seemed to be happy with a distance of about 15 miles. We headed out of Wantage and through Lockinge and Betterton before heading up onto The Ridgeway and straight over and down West Ginge Down to Old Down. It was here that we had the first mechanical - a broken chain. Dr. Bike (Steve Swanton) had it fixed pretty quickly and we headed back to The Ridgeway. Keith decided that fixed wheel road bikes were a bit lively off road and left us back at the road. At Scutchamer Knob 2 punctures gave us an opportunity to watch runners stream past taking part in thier own Ridgeway event. We then headed back along the The Ridgeway and down to East Lockinge. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- From Dave S: Excellent ride. The weather and conditions were perfect and a good turnout.
