Description: Social rides up to half day - 32km (20 miles), usually with a cafe stop, at a riding pace of 16-20km/h (10-12mph). Please check website on the morning of the ride if the weather is poor as it may be cancelled or the start time changed. Heading out through Denchworth and West Hanney to Southmoor with a stop at the shop for coffee, returning through Charney Bassett.
Riders: Barry Eggby David Bridge Des Higgs Diana Whidborne John Groves Karl Blake Kristen Long - Dup Lizzie Long Lorna Swanton Martyn Wigmore Mila Yearley Roger Postbeschild Simon Long Stephanie Haddrell Riders = 14 Weather: Report: 11 riders set out from Grove on this bright sunny morning and met up with 3 more in Denchworth: Lizzie, her son Simon and daughter-in-law Kristen, visiting from Austria. We headed out to Hanney and up the lovely smooth road to Southmoor for some excellent coffee at the shop there (Munch@The Log Cabin). From there across the bridge over the A420 to Longworth and Hinton Waldrist, back across to Pusey, Gainfield, Charney Bassett, Denchworth and home, enjoying dry weather and plenty of chat all the way. Thanks to Roger for sweeping (that new orange top made you the obvious candidate for the job!) and thanks to everyone for your company. Thanks to Simon for the photos. One was taken by a passer-by who told us thereâ€™s coffee and home-made cake every Thursday morning at Southmoor Village Hall from 9am to 12 noon. A future venue?
