Tuesday Evening 2* Ride & Pub night at the Fox	2*

Leader: Stephanie Haddrell	Start Time: 6:30 pm	Start Location: OMH
Description: Pub Night: If you would like to go to the Fox at the end of the ride please let the leader know and advise if you would like to eat. It would be helpful to do this by Friday 27th so that we can ensure that there are sufficient tables. We are heading out on a flat ride to Uffington and back via Hatford and the Fox, don't forget your lights! As a courtesy to the ride leader, we ask that you pre-book for this ride. To book your place please text the ride leader no sooner than the Wednesday before the ride. Weekly 1.5 hour rides at a riding pace of 18-20km/h (11-13mph). Not likely to be very hilly.
Riders: Barry Stanton David Jackson Des Higgs Gareth Smith Gerry Jones Ian Howland Karl Blake Sarah Bowen Sarah Lewis Stephanie Haddrell Val Smith Riders = 11 Report: A lovely evening for a flat ride out to Uffington cool with a moderate breeze to encourage pace in order to get back to the Fox for well earned refreshments! We spilt into two groups one of 6 and one of 5 for the ride and a special thanks to Gareth for leading the second group! With the wind in our favour as we left Grove, we set off at a good pace and soon warmed up, getting into a comfortable rhythm. With no mechanicals and little traffic we made excellent time to Baulking, and just as we were discussing the state of the Uffington road we met a road closure sign, and so opted for the short cut through to the Fernham road from Baulking. From here there was just one focus beer and food, and the pace increased; Sarah was keeping up with me and I was keeping up with her and so we just got faster until the boys put us in our place and steemed passed us from the Buckland crossroads into Charney doing a steady 19 miles an hour, as we looked on in awe secretly hoping they would get the first round in! True Gentleman Des held back to keep us company and the others stopped and waited for us at Charney ( I think they wanted us to get the first round!!). We made it safely to the pub and enjoyed great company and joie de vivre over a lovely pint and meal, some of us even had puddings! We were also thrilled to see Lizzie who joined us for a drink. Thanks to all for great company and a lovely evening.
