Riders: Chris Bailey Joanna Houlston Nicole Pethybridge Sharon Bedford Yvonne Bird Riders = 5 Report: Torrential rain at 6pm put the ride in doubt - but by 6.30pm there was a glimmer of brightness so we decided to give it a go. To be honest it could have gone either way, but the cycle weather gods were with us and we didn't get rained on at all, (notice I didn't say we stayed dry as quite a lot of spray from wet roads!). Luckily the road from Uffington up to the top of Dragon Hill was completely dry - and the sun came out for our climb so that some of us had to stop and remove rain jackets before tackling the hill. We all made it up easily, (but not quite so easily as some athletic young lady who seemed to be doing multiple ascents very quickly!) We took a breather at the top (in the sunshine) to watch the rain down over the Vale (sorry 2 Stars) and take photos of the rainbow. After a careful descent (puddles and gravelly roads and an enthusiastic dog ) we put our heads down for a quick return to Grove just as it was getting dark, (apart from Chris who sensibly returned straight to Wantage). A lovely group and a great ride to end what has been a fantastic summer of Tuesdays.
