Family Picnic ride

Leader: Sorrel Williams	Start Time: 2:00 pm	Start Location: OMH
Description: A short (3 miles) ride designed for all the family from Grove to Ardington Woods following cycle paths and quiet roads. Picnic to be at the stones in Ardington Woods. Don't worry if all the family can't cycle, they can always meet us at the Stones for a picnic (and carry your picnic snacks!). Children must be accompanied by an adult

The majority of us set off from Grove, quickly reaching the cycle path that took us to Charlton village. Little legs managed perfectly up the hill into Charlton village (and put some of us adults to shame!) We negotiated the roundabout at the Lord Nelson very successfully where we met up with the rest of the group at the bottom of the allotments. We took the path through to West Lockinge, cut through the car park and then on into Ardington, over the grass and up the hill to the Stones where the picnics were tucked into and we met Kevin, Tom and Yu. After a rest/explore/snooze/bike repairs from random tube bursts(!)we headed back to Grove the way we had come, saying goodbye to Henry, Ella, Faye, Chris, Andi and Caroline at the bottom of the allotments. A special well done to Ella who has only been without stabilisers for a few weeks and a welcome to all of you on your first CTC ride - let's hope we see you on a few more. A total of 6.5 miles from Grove.
