2* Saturday Half Day Ride	2*

Leader: Stephanie Haddrell	Start Time: 9:30 am	Start Location: Old Mill Hall
Description: A favourite ride of mine out to the woollen mill at Filkins for Coffee. The total length of the ride is 44 miles and takes us through some beautiful villages on the edge of the Cotswolds. Coffee is at 25 miles with most of the troublesome hills conquered before coffee. Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Half day ride (45-55km / 30-40 miles), with a tea stop, at a riding pace of 18-20km/h (11-13mph).
Riders: Barry Stanton Clare Hazell David Jackson Des Higgs Katherine Boyce Pauline Clark Stephanie Haddrell Riders = 7 Weather: Report: A beautiful sunny morning for a ride and lovely to have more girls than boys on a 2*! I had saved the ride to my garmin( unusually) and put trust in the planned route, although at the first turn into Denchworth I was suprised to be going left. At this point I renamed the ride the magical mystery tour to Filkins! We went to Goosey, Baulking, Fernham and the Coxwells and paused at Badbury Clumps to regroup. We then enjoyed a lovely descent to Coleshill where we turned to take the road to Buscot. At this point due to road closures around Lechlade our normally quiet lanes were rather busy, which was a little disconcerting. We rode on with care, through little Faringdon and Broughton Poggs to our cafe stop at Filkins Woollen Mill, a beautiful destination for a return visit for coffee, shopping and wander. From here the roads were rather quieter and we enjoyed the lanes through Langford and Grafton and onto Radcot, where we prepared for our final hill of the day up to Littleworth, before crossing the A420 to familiar territory, and home via Charney and Denchworth by which time it was becoming rather warm.
