Off Road Ride

Leader: Geoff Neill	Start Time: 11:00 am	Start Location: OMH
Description: Ridgeway ride starting from Overton Hill to Wantage (approx 35 miles). Meet at OMH at 11.00 (numbers limited to 9) for transport to Avebury. To insure a lift riders must resevere a place in the van/car with Geoff Neill 01235 767006. Alternatively meet at the Red Lion pub in Avebury for a 1pm start. For those who travel independently to Avebury by car there will be a lift(limited to 3) back to Avebury after the ride to collect their vehicles. Please bring snacks as there will be a scheduled stop during the ride.
Riders: Frank Schroer Geoff Neill Ian Murray Riders = 3 Report: Unfortunately the van to take us to Avebury was not available and an alternative arrangement was used. Only 3 riders set off from Overton Hill at 12:30 and found the going generally quite good for the Ridgeway with very little mud. The section arround Liddington Castle was however deeply rutted with an overgrown section making progress difficult. After a pint at the Shepherds Rest (Fox Hill) the trio continued on very good paths arriving in Wantage at 17:30
