Easy Rider Saturday Ride

Leader: Glen Savegar	Start Time: 1:00 pm	Start Location: OMH
Description: Regular Saturday Easy Ride of 45-55km from Grove. This months gentle paced ride will take in West Hanney,Charney Bassett,Hatford,Shellingford,Fernham,Longcot,Woolstone,Uffington,Baulking,Goosey and Denchworth,for tea and cakes at Wantage Museum * Please note tea stop close to rides end.There will however be ample opportunities to pause for refreshments along the route,but please ensure you carry sufficient water for the journey. * A village Fete is being held at Uffington between 1.00pm and 4.00pm,which would provide a nice alternative for the tea stop.I would guess that there would be a small admission charge.Can make a decision on the day!......
Riders: Brian Hipwell Glen Savegar Maurice Bawden Nigel Stuckey Richard Divall Richard Preece Stephen Quartermain Steve Boreham Steve Joyce Steve Swanton Tony Lewis Riders = 11 Report: Headed out in glorious June sunshine, with a strong(ish)westerly breeze for much of the outward stretch to Longcot. Pausing for a brief refreshment break with fabulous clear views across to White Horse hill,we continued on through Woolstone, pushed along by the breeze to Uffington village fete, enjoying a very pleasant half hour watching the Morris dance team perform,and sampling the tea and scones which were looking a little depleted by the time we arrived on the scene. Steve Q did however manage to secure the last cream scone, which looked very nice indeed!.... Set off on the homeward leg at a relaxed "breeze assisted" pace, arriving at the Old Mill Hall for 4.30PM. Thanks everyone for a lovely afternoons cycling! Glen S
