Extended Sunday Shortie	3*

Leader: Katherine Boyce	Start Time: 9:15 am	Start Location: OMH
Description: Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. A 60km 3 hour ride with a riding pace of 20-24km/h (13-15mph). Not suitable for irregular riders. Climbing likely. I’ve wanted to go to the coffee and bakery at Kennington for sometime, so that’s the plan: out via Cothill, skirting Boars Hill to Kennington and Proof Social Bakehouse before returning via Boars Hill, Wootton and Lyford. Just shy of 60k and only one big hill. Please note the OMH start at 9.15

Few hiccups at the start but eventually most of us left and naturally split into 2 groups as traffic warranted, which made leading very enjoyable . Straightforward route to Kennington via Garford and Sunningwell for a first time (for me) at the Proof Social Bakery. The long queues were definitely worth putting up with for the yummy baked goods and excellent coffee. Luckily outside was sheltered and sunny as there were no seats inside. Richard caught up with us as we neared the end of the queue- a fitting reward for a heroic dash to join us! The one hill was easily conquered and provided a different approach to Boars Hill. The descent wasn’t as bumpy as remembered, with just one horse to pass gingerly! Joy disappeared swiftly into a nagging headwind as we approached Appleton so she wouldn’t be late for a social engagement and soon the rest of us were going our separate ways in Grove after a splendid mornings riding. Thanks all for being great company
