3* Bank Holiday Special	3*

Leader: Sharon Bedford	Start Time: 9:30 am	Start Location: Cumnor Hill
Description: Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. All-day touring ride, lunch and possibly tea stop en route, at a riding pace of 18-22km/h (11-14mph). Not suitable for irregular riders. Making the most of the bank holiday for an awayday ride. We will meet at the top of Cumnor Hill (exact parking details to be provided when you sign up) and explore towards Chipping Norton. We will stop somewhere in the vicinity of Chipping Norton (exact cafe to be determined depending on bank holiday opening which I will check this week) with a second stop at Aston Pottery.
Riders: Andy Pixton Jan McCabe Jo Little John Tranter Katherine Boyce Richard Kidd Sharon Bedford Yvonne Bird Riders = 8 Report: It is surprising how starting just a little way from Wantage opens the possibilities to visit areas we don't get to very often. I think we all enjoyed cycling somewhere different and were impressed by the great scenery. We made good progress to Chipping Norton - so decided to push on to Cafe de la Post at Chadlington for our first stop. Being a bank holiday Monday the weather forecast was for rain - and we did wonder how soggy we might get. We considered ourselves lucky therefore not to get rain until after our second stop at Aston Pottery. Unfortunately there was then a heavy downpour so we all got somewhat damp. Although it would have been better to stay dry we agreed it didn't distract from what was a lovely day's ride. Thanks to everyone for being a great group.
