Regular Wantage Ride

Description: First section is relatively flat with some short sections of cycle-path and narrow, potholed, and gravely lanes round Checkendon [in part follows Sustrans National Route 5]
Riders: Nick Dunton Robert Shaw Riders = 2 Report: Only two riders out on what must have been one of the best cycling days of the year! Where were you all? Non-eventful ride. Distance 87km. We stopped for coffee in Wallingford - nice cafe opposite the entrance to Waitrose supermarket - and lunch at the Black Horse, Checkendon. NB only serves baguettes but Rob said the beer was good. Made good time and were back in Wantage c. 2.40 p.m.
