3* Bank Holiday Special	3*

Leader: Sharon Bedford	Start Time: 9:00 am	Start Location: Cumnor Hill
Description: Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. All-day touring ride, lunch and possibly tea stop en route, at a riding pace of 18-22km/h (11-14mph). Not suitable for irregular riders. Bank Holiday Special starting from Cumnor Hill (exact location to be shared nearer the time). Partly a repeat of the 2024 ride - but instead of going to Chipping Norton we will be exploring a Cotswold loop from Charlbury to Leafield. Just as a heads-up, this isn't a route I have used before - but I have tried to stay on minor roads and it should be an adventure! Two stops, the first at the frequently visited Cafe de la Post in Chadlington and the second at the Ue Steamhouse in Witney, (don't be put off because it is on an industrial estate I've stopped there before and was impressed).
Riders: Andy Pixton Chris Bailey James Bosley Joy Arthur Katherine Boyce Lisa Footner Sharon Bedford Riders = 7 Report: Unfortunately the perfect spring weather we have been experiencing decided to take a break today and we set off in quite cold temperatures, (the ride leader had failed to notice the change and only brought fingerless gloves and lost feeling in her hands!). Luckily it warmed up a bit (or the subsequent uphills made a difference) and we had a lovely ride into the Cotswolds. As advertised I had plotted some new roads and (luckily) the new route proved successful with some great views, (oh and yes some more climbing). We managed to avoid the madness around Jeremy Clarkson’s Farm Shops so the traffic was mostly light. Two great cafe stops. The Headwind for the last 12k was brutal - and we were all pleased to get back to Cumnor. Thanks to Katherine and Joy who helped with the headwind at various points.
