2* Saturday Half Day Ride - Oxford Special	2*

Description: Please pre-book for this ride by contacting the ride leader. Half day ride (45-55km / 30-40 miles), with a tea stop, at a riding pace of 18-20km/h (11-13mph). On of my favourite routes involving some cunning ways to get into the centre of Oxford almost entirely on off-road tracks (but nothing too rough - all tyres will be fine). We head across the Vale for Appleton and Cumnor, then down Cumnor Hill before hitting the back roads and trails to get us to the river by Osney. A lovely river crossing before we hit the centre of town. Coffee stop with the opportunity to see my old College, St Cross. Then we head north out of town on the canal towpath to Wolvercote, loop around Port Meadow and head for home. 41 miles / 65km at a nice steady 2* pace.

Description: This evening we'll explore some of the back routes in Wantage before continuing to Lockinge and Betterton, returning to Grove via Lains barn (12 miles). Our leisurely and sociable Tuesday evening 1* rides are designed specifically with adult newcomers to cycling and youngsters in mind, or those who just want some relaxed and sociable exercise. We cover a distance of 10-15 miles (16-24km) at a gentle pace of 8-10 mph (13-16kph), following quiet country lanes and the occasional easy off-road track. We stop regularly to catch our breath, to take in the views and anything that takes our interest along the way.

1* Saturday Half Day Away Ride from Standlake	1*

Description: Our regular social and family ride on the third Saturday of the month, usually with a cafe stop. We cover 16-32km (10-20 miles) at a leisurely pace of 13-16km/h (8-10mph), tackling the occasional hill (nothing too long) and easy off-road track (conditions permitting). Please let the ride leader know if you are planning to come. This month an awayday 1* ride to the Thames Valley starting from the large car park outside Standlake village hall (OX29 7SB) with a tea stop at Aston Pottery. All welcome. After leaving the village hall, we'll ride through the villages of Yelford, Lew and Bampton before stopping at the pottery after about 11 miles. We'll then have another 5 miles or so to go back to the hall, via Cote, Shifford & an unpaved section .
